
The scientific use of post-treatment equipment is crucial. To achieve ideal dew point performance while ensuring stable equipment operation, this article will summarize six key usage precautions using a heatless module adsorption dryer as an example.
1. Do not exceed the rated processing capacity.
Module desiccant dryers use varying numbers of adsorption cylinders to match throughput, controlling flow rate and adsorption time. For a given dryer, higher throughput raises the air velocity through the cylinders, reducing contact time with the adsorbent. This shortens moisture adsorption and worsens the outlet dew point.
2. Do not exceed the design temperature.
Keep inlet air temperature at or below the design value. If it exceeds design, it must stay below the maximum allowable limit, and you should adjust during selection. Higher temperatures increase molecular motion in the adsorbent pores, reducing moisture adsorption and performance. Heat can also damage the adsorbent structure, accelerate aging, and shorten service life.
If you omit a refrigerated dryer, design the piping carefully to lower the inlet temperature. When using an air-cooled compressor, ensure proper ventilation in the machine room.
3. Do not allow the intake pressure to be too low.
At the same standard throughput, lower pressure increases gas velocity, which harms moisture adsorption. The calculation formula also shows that lower pressure demands more regeneration gas, while higher pressure conserves it.
