Caution
Pay attention to the dew point, not just the outlet pressure
If the process requires a specific compressed air dryness level, install and regularly calibrate a dew point meter.
Typical requirements include -20°C, -40°C, or -60°C pressure dew point. Do not rely solely on the “dryer operating normally” status; monitor the actual dew point.
If the dew point rises suddenly, check for:
- Excessive inlet moisture
- Insufficient regeneration gas
- Adsorbent failure
- Switching valve leakage
- Abnormal adsorption/regeneration time
Do not adjust the control parameters arbitrarily
For heatless dryers, the system sets adsorption, regeneration, pressurization, switching times, regeneration gas volume, and valve parameters during design.
Do not arbitrarily reduce regeneration time or gas volume to save air. Insufficient regeneration may increase the dew point and compromise drying performance.
Special care should be taken when restarting after a long period of shutdown
After an extended shutdown, especially when the system remains depressurized, restart the dryer according to the manufacturer’s procedure.
Do not simply open the inlet valve. Adsorbent condition, tower pressure, and valve status during shutdown can affect drying performance after restart.
