Caution
Intake air temperature
The recommended inlet air temperature is ≤45°C; higher temperatures lead to a significant drop in adsorption capacity and a deterioration of the outlet dew point. In summer, due to high air compressor discharge temperatures, the use of an aftercooler is mandatory. The inlet temperature must strictly not exceed 50°C.
Oil-laden intake air
Oil is the greatest enemy of adsorbents! Oil causes permanent deactivation (poisoning) of molecular sieves and alumina.
– A high-efficiency oil-removal filter **must be installed** at the inlet; it must provide a filtration rating of at least 0.01 μm and ensure an oil content of ≤0.01 mg/m³.
– Strictly prohibit operating the dryer while the air compressor is leaking oil; filter elements must be replaced on schedule and never used beyond their service life.
Liquid water in the intake air
The entry of large amounts of liquid water into the vessel will cause the adsorbent to pulverize and cake.
– Equip the upstream section with an air receiver tank, a water-cooled or air-cooled aftercooler, and a precision filter;
– Ensure the automatic drains on all equipment function correctly and inspect them regularly to prevent accumulated water from entering the dryer.
