This twin-tower desiccant dryer adopts pressure swing adsorption with micro-heated regeneration. It removes water vapor from compressed air to achieve stable low pressure dew point (-40℃). Compared with heatless type, it features lower purge air consumption and better energy efficiency. Two adsorption towers work alternately to ensure continuous supply of dry compressed air, widely applied in machinery, electronics, chemical and food industries.

Notes

Do not mix up the startup order

Process sequence: Air compressor → cooler → refrigerated dryer → Q/P/S/C three-stage filters → adsorption dryer
  1. Open the bypass valve, shut the dryer inlet and outlet valves, then run the air compressor under no load for pressurization.
  2. Keep the pre-positioned refrigerated dryer and gas-water separator in normal operation, and fully drain pre-filters.
  3. Slowly pressurize Tower A and Tower B concurrently to balance pressure at 0.4~0.6 MPa; avoid one-sided rapid pressurization to protect adsorbent from impact damage.
  4. After pressure stabilizes, open inlet & outlet valves and close the bypass. Power on the controller and heater to launch the dryer.

Startup Taboos

Never start the dryer below 0.3 MPa or energize it before pressure equalization; these actions create internal airflow shocks and quickly break down adsorbents. Do not alter factory preset adsorption cycles and heating durations arbitrarily, as self-shortened heating periods lead to failed regeneration and sharp dew point rise.

Control inlet temperature ≤40℃, with a hard upper limit of 45℃. Each 5℃ temperature rise raises air moisture by 30% and surges equipment load; inspect coolers and the compressor aftercooling system promptly once temperature exceeds limits.

Avoid long overrated inlet flow, for overload directly ruins dew point stability and raises pressure drop.

Maintain intact pre-oil filters and restrict inlet oil content to ≤0.01mg/m³. Oil contamination permanently poisons adsorbents; never feed liquid water directly into adsorption towers.

Sustain steady operating pressure at 0.4~0.7MPa. Frequent drastic pressure fluctuations expand and contract adsorbents repeatedly, triggering cracking and heavy powder shedding.
